Okay… at work there’s this guy in the second violin section with nasty B.O. because he bikes everywhere but when he showers he uses this STRONG herbal garbáge that reeks like a spice garden. I brought some Renuz-it to rehearsal and put it backstage and that helped a little. Ho do I time it so I show up to work so I don’t have to smell either odor?
Tell him he smells like sh__! JKJK. If you know some other people in the orchestra that feel the same way you do, discuss it with them first, as one of them may be a good friend to him and can break it to him gently. If not you may have to be blunt. In this case please get him alone. No, you don’t have to ‘buy him dinner’ but find a way to get him alone but not where you play music. That way the place in which you play will not have bad vibes, if you will. Start with happy smile small talk, then do a ‘by the way’. Tell him a compliment before the deed. “You play violin rather well” Then, with a squnchy face like you are hurting say “but the product you use disrupts my ability to play my instrument”. Tell him that if he could just use this product after music time, it would help. As a fellow musician he should realize how important concentration is. I hope I have helped, Prince. You are my first! (plz pardon any spelling mistakes).
Your spell checker has arrived!!! At least for those using IE (Internet Explorer) Go to iespell.com and get the free spelchecker plugin. Then, you can spell check your input on all input forms. It maintains a dictionary that you can add words to that it may not know about. I use it, and it works great.
