The answer is pretty simple really. In the beginning, God created a mature universe. He created fully grown oak trees, not acorns that would one day grow into trees. He created Adam as a fully grown man and Eve as a fully mature woman. And He created light already in transit from distant galaxies to reveal as much of His creation to man as He desired.
So all of man’s attempts to measure and nail down a point of origin is futile. It can only be measured and observed by someone outside the universe and from point independent of the space/time continuum. There is no way for someone actually in it to get a true measure.
Something else I should point out is that God creating the universe does not depend on a majority or a consensus to be true. The truth is the truth whether it’s understood and accepted or not.
You can not change reality by denying its existence. You can sure screw you life up though. The choice is yours. When God created you he gave you an intelligent mind and a free will to analyze the facts and choose what you want to believe. But choosing to not believe in Him does not diminish His sovereignty or position in the universe. He is still and will always be the Creator.
The questions you have, related to the existence of a God are, in my view, rational, reasonable and certainly, logical considering the situation in the world today, especially when considering the number of ‘religions’ that exist and their obvious inability to bring ‘enlightenment’ to the masses.
There was a time in my life when I too, shared your view,(or lack of view, as I see it now). I should however, say that I never ‘stood’ as such a ‘scoffer’, as you seem to. Perhaps I felt ‘pity’ for the ‘small minded’ religious ‘idiots’, but never such ‘contempt’ as you seem to have.
Regarding these questions you’ve presented in your resent post concerning this subject matter. They are all easily answered by a long time Christan like myself, but it would be a waste of time, because as a mere mortal man, how could you believe me?
There is a verse in the bible that is repeated over and over again. It is “many are called but few are chosen”. Being so uninformed shows that you have not been ‘chosen’(yet at least), and I suspect that, neither have you been called.
On behalf of ‘our heavenly Father’, I do so now. I challenge you to disprove the existence of God, by ‘seeking Him with all your heart and soul’ If you do this you will certainly find Him and once you have Him in your heart, He will place within you ‘the holy spirit’, who will then, ‘guide you into all truth’. Never again will ‘any man’ have to try to ‘explain’ things to you.
Now go ahead,,,scoff all you want,,,but at least now, you are among the ‘many’ who are, at least, CALLED !
Uh, clearly you do not see that I am scoffing because I am trying to be a huge dick (and succeeding, I think). I lost all interest in earnest debate some time ago with you guys. You seem intelligent and reasonable, so I won’t flame you, but just so you know: I find your assumption that you, as a mere mortal man, are within a certitude of correctness and I am bound to see the “error of my ways” presumptuous.
