Qube is a failure because it’s not attracting the same kind of insanity as youtbe does? Well, yes, the insanity is still there… but there isn’t enough of it? If there’s a large contingent of Dems/Muslims suck is become it seems as though people use the place to blow off steam, which is healthy. Sometimes, when said steam is blown off, people talk about other more mundane things. So what? Yesterday was the first day in ages without Decepticon and it was great. A large varity of subjects were covered without shrillness. Geez, even Americanvidiot and I have found places too agree. There seems to be a sense amongst some that agrrement=complacency or intellectually slackery. I disagree. Agreement is bound to happen among the like-minded.

The point about the extreme end of the rightwing is well-taken. Anyone with that view here is likely to be outed and made an outcast just as the shrillest voices from the left would be, however. I would abide no Neo-Nazi’s views anymore than I would an anarchist. If there’s a flaw in this site it has to do with the good character of the people that run it! Jeff is in the difficult position of letting people speak their minds yet having to make the judgement as to whether someone’s trollish behavior be banned. It’s a difficult dance and I’m glad it’s not I who have to make those determinations. I would likely be more heavyhanded about exacting discipline but that’s just me. People have this strange idea about the First Ammendment and privately held internet sites, as though not being allowed to spout filth violates the Constitution.

So, it’s all a question of what the site owners feel is successful. If they set out originally to dominate youtube and be on the lips of every teenager as the go-to place to be hip, well, yeah, you’re right. If it’s a place to hang out and give vent to your opinions, they’ve succeeded. Yes, there’s room for improvement and, just like like Iraq and Afghanistan, it’ll happen if the site gets the support it needs. Too many “ifs”? Maybe. But I’m willing to hang out and see what develops. Why not? Just as you say, it’s a hell of a lot more civil (for the most part) than other political sites.

You wouldn’t abide an anarchist huh? I don’t think you know what conservatism is.

Ever heard of the forgotten man of the right? He was an anarchist in the classical sense.

This site won’t make it because it doesn’t even know what conservatism is.

Then exercise your freedom to go somewhere that’s already “made it”. Stop wasting your time here. I’m not interested in going to check out your little site. Go bait someone else.
