Why not favorite books? I suggest nothing political, at least current.

Eric Hoffer’s “True Believer” would be tops on my list. Ike recommended it.

Your St. Reagan gave him the medal of Freedom.

And political parties adopted the methods he railed against. The Republicans have made political propaganda an art. If Hoffer were around today, he would be astonished.

In fact, quite a few “True Believers” appear regularly here. Blinded by propaganda. Thus, they can’t see the boards in their own eyes.

Movies? Balderdash.

Books? Manna from heaven.

Read True Believer. You might be one and not know it.

Thanks for the non-political post. You really sold it to me, I have to say.

By the way, is anything preventing you to start a group about favorite books?

No.

Instead you deliver your opinion here that books are more elevated than movies. No, movies aren’t an art form, another legitimate means of artistic expression, right? Sheesh.

Yes, Please start a book group! If you don’t, I will by the end of the week. This is wild, but next time I go to the book store I am gonna get True Believer! I wonder if we are talking about the same book. I just saw the author talking about his book on BookTV (cable). Granted, they do repeat interviews and it may have been old, but you talk of him in past tense. Did something happen that I missed?

that does look good. I think I will get Eric’s book AND Scott’s book.
Thank you for the clarity, buck
